Flora London Marathon 2008 · 13 April 2008 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'm running the London Marathon to raise money for Leukaemia Research.

On my last birthday I turned 38.  My Mum never reached this age because when she was 37 she died from leukaemia.  I feel lucky to be healthy enough to attempt a marathon, and although Paula Radcliffe has nothing to fear from me, I'm training regularly to make sure I get round those 26 miles.

Leukaemia Research is the only charity in the UK dedicated exclusively to researching blood cancers and disorders including leukaemia, myeloma, Hodgkin’s and other lymphomas.

110,000 children and adults are living with these cancers in the UK today, and 24,500 are newly diagnosed every year. So please dig deep and sponsor me online!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thanks a million for your support.
