Hurray, I've done it!

Well the sunshine was short lived and for my final event I braved the wind and rain and said goodbye to the feeling in my toes.

In my year,  I have swum 3050m, biked 214 miles, run 70 miles and walked 5 miles (I have also done a few other miles of each in training!)  Thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored me.  The page will be here for a few more weeks for anyone who would still like to donate.

I have completed an event a month for a year, in my year I have done:

May - Southwell triathlon - 400m swim, 20km bike and 5km run.

June-Rother Valley Women Only Supersprint triathlon- 200m swim, 10K bike, 4K run

-5 mile moonlight walk (takes place at midnight) I did this with my Mum who did brilliantly!

    • July - Trentham Sprint Triathlon - 500m swim, 23k bike, 5K run
    • August - Nottingham Traithlon - 750m swim, 20K bike, 5K run
    • September - Robin Hood Half Marathon

October - Stratford Triathlon 400m swim, 23K bike, 5K run

November - Holme Pierre Point 10K

December - " The Turkey Trot" - a half marathon in KeyworthI

January - Wedgenock Hills and Spills - a cross country 10K

February - The Beast - a 10 mile run on an Equine X Country course - see picture!

March - East Leake triathlon - 400m swim, 20km bike and 5km run

      April - Duston triathlon - 400m swim, 20km bike and 5km run

May - Squire and Spires - 78 mile cyclosportive.

      Why all this madness?

ME is a dreadful illness that can strike anyone. My Mum is living proof of this. When she was diagnosed with ME she had just returned from a trip to India. She had been active all her life having worked full time and raised 2 children and it floored her. But because my Mum is a fighter (and because she was lucky) she managed very slowly and gradually to work her way back to better health. Managing to do the coast to coast walk and the Inca Trail.

Recently her illness has reared its ugly head again, but Mum is fighting again, trying to gradually build up her walking - starting with up the road and back, she is now up to 2 miles. She and I are going to do a 5 mile moonlit walk together in June, for which my Mum is I'm sure already busy raising sponsor money!

This was a major guilt trip for me. In the last year I've started running and I've done a couple of half-marathons and a marathon. But I've been too lazy and disorganised to raise a penny. I've also done a couple of triathlons and again, not a penny. I now feel as if I've left it too late to ask anyone to sponsor me for a run or a triathlon - I've done them before, where's the challenge? Hence the plan!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. Its also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ME Association gets your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

      So please sponsor me now!
