Well, that's me been to Africa and climbed up the awesome Mount Kilimanjaro. Sadly I didn't quite get to the summit as at an altitude of 5,200 mts I had to heed the doctor's advice and due to altitude sickness had to come down. I managed to get higher than the summit of Mont Blanc and at just over 17,000 feet it was the same height that we flew in the aircraft from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro!  I gave it my best shot, and everything within my control was perfect, my legs were fine and my boots gave me no trouble and my kit was just great. I always knew that there was a possibilty of outside factors preventing me from getting to the summit. Nevertheless I am immensely proud of everything that I have achieved from this and where I finished on the mountainside. The amount of money that I have raised through your kindness and support has been phenomenal and beyond my expectations. Getting fit and believing that I could do it were all massive challenges for me, and this has been an amazing experience and I just loved have every minute of it - but have absolutely no desire to ever repeat it !!

They make it possible for those sufferring from a terminal illness to spend their final days in their own home surrounded by their friends and family. Just £20 will pay for a Marie Curie nurse to be in their home for one hour.
