Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you will already know, my partner Fred spent the last two weeks of his life in Dr Kershaws Hospice, where he died on March 31st. Fred was very grateful to be able to go into the Hospice as he did not want his son Nathan or myself to have to nurse him.
I have just returned from a sponsored trek on the Great Wall of China in aid of the Hospice and in memory of Fred. I found the trek a considerable challenge (especially the narrow ledges over precipitous drops we had to shuffle across) but thoroughly enjoyed myself, saw some wonderful sights and met some great people.
Through your generous sponsorship, a carboot sale, a coffee morning, a cream tea afternoon and collecting a "kilometer of coins" I have managed to raise just over five thousand pounds! I can't quite believe it. A big thank you to all those who contributed and special thanks to Dorothy, Uppermill Cubs and Scouts and Ken from the Saddleworth Independent for your invaluable help and support.
As I funded my trip to china myself every penny of you sponsorship will go direct to the hospice. My page remains open should you wish to make further donations to Dr Kershaw's.
Thank you,
Janet.x
