In June of this year I am taking part in the Challenge of a lifetime for Thames Hospicecare, a voluntary local hospice based in Ascot. I am aiming to cycle 285 miles from London to Paris over the course of 4 days. For those of you who know me really well I have never tackled anything like this before – only watched my husband from the sidelines!

There are few people’s lives that have not been touched by the difficulties that living with cancer presents. I have lost both my Mum and Father-in-law and indeed a very close friend of mine has spent the last 3 years facing her own ordeal. She has had two courses of chemotherapy and treatment that is on-going. She has come through those years and has asked me if I would accompany her on the cycle ride and help her raise money for the charity that has supported her throughout and continues to do so. I cannot tell you what an honour and a privilege it is to do this with her and help her face her own personal challenge after everything she has been through.

Any support you give me will help the hospice to continue its wonderful work. As you can see I have already exceeded the target of £880 needed by March 18th in order to be allowed to take part. If you are able to make a donation I would greatly appreciate your help to reach my overall target of £5,000.
