Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

Action Against Hunger is a global humanitarian organisation that takes decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. We save the lives of malnourished children. We ensure everyone can access clean water, food, training and healthcare. We enable entire communities to be free from hunger.

Story

Thank you for visiting my site.  As you now know, I am planning to run the London Marathon on April 26, 2009.  Having recently moved back to New York, it provides the perfect opportunity to visit friends and to race in support of an excellent foundation: Action Against Hunger UK.

I first became involved with AAH UK shortly after moving to London.  From the start, it was apparent to me that AAH's cause is noble and its management efficient.  For over 25 years, AAH has focused on providing food and potable water to those most in need.  While crisis management demands significant resources, the foundation also labors to provide sustainable solutions to hunger and malnutrition in challenging agricultural (and political) climates.  To learn more about Action Against Hunger UK, visit: www.aahuk.org

The global economic slowdown has and will continue to intensify the plight of the disadvantaged.  As government revenues and corporate profits plummet, private giving is as essential as ever.  Please consider giving whatever you can -- large, small or in between.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Action Against Hunger UK gets your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving adds 25% in Gift Aid and a 3% supplement to your donation.

Thank You,

Jared
