Haiti was hit recently by the strongest earthquake to strike the Caribbean nation in more than 200 years. Residents are struggling to recover after tens of thousands of people were killed and countless homes and buildings were destroyed.

The Haitian Government reports that between 217,000 and 230,000 people had been identified as dead, an estimated 300,000 injured, and an estimated 1,000,000 homeless. To put this number into context, imagine the the number of dead as the nou camp barcelona football stadium filled more than twice. This includes mothers, fathers, sons and daughters all taken from families.

I Rami Jasem am aiming to raise at least £2000 for the residents of Haiti affected by the earthquake. This amount will go towards life saving medical care for people of Haiti and general things me and you take for granted like fresh water and clean clothes. The money will also go towards the huge amount of construction required to get Haiti back on its feet as a nation, creating schools, hospitals and houses for people. This target will of course be unacheivable without your help! I would like to thank all the people that have donated so far and hope they enjoyed all the events organised! I urge people to dig deep.

I myself will be being as active as i possibly can by running marathons, participating in tri-athalons and organising events which will try and boost this £2000 target.
