Story
Hey everyone!
Thanks for looking at my page and considering to sponsor me. I ran the Bath Half Marathon on 7th March 2010 on behalf of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution). I have long supported the RNLI (ever since I chose them as my charity to support back as a cub scout) and am very proud to be running for them and I am trying to raise as much as I can, in order to show this.
The RNLI relies solely on donations and legacies in order to run, as well as the volunteers they have working for them. And with an average of 22 people saved each day (most of which are at night), it is such a worthy cause.
Please support me in my aim to not only raise as much money as I can.
Here are a few examples of what your lovely support can go to:
£10 = Training DVD and materials
£36 = Safety Boots
£90 = Thermal suit
£319 = First aid/radio/seamanship training
Keep checking back for updates on my progress and if you are feeling very generous, to donate a little more.
Thanks so much to all of you that donate. Even if you decide not to, please wish me good luck anyway.
I managed the run in 1:50:43. I was making 8min/mile solidly until my knee suddenly (or more like finally) gave me a lot of grief so I eased right off. Shame I couldn't make sub 1:45:00 but sub 2hrs is great given my injury!
Thanks a lot to all those that wished me support. I intend to do the Bristol 10km (maybe the Corsham 10km too to try and find what pace I want to aim for in Bristol). And if I get into KTH in Stockholm, I'll run the Stockholm Half Marathon in September :-)
So please please please keep sponsoring me as I run for the RNLI whom I would wish to thank not just for their support but more importantly for the food they had waiting as I finished ;-)
JustGiving is safe and secure and they will keep all your details safe and not send any unwanted emails. Donating is easy and will be put to a good use.
