Unique is an open, supportive community for people who are looking to learn, share lived experiences and connect with others whose life has been touched by rare chromosome or gene disorders. We are here to support and celebrate people living truly unique lives. We are Unique… and so are you.

Story

Hi,

Thanks for visiting my fund-raising page.

I'm running the Peterborough half marathon this year for a charity that is close to my heart.  My nephew (Dylan Martin) was born with a rare chromosome disorder - a result of this is that he is severely disabled and needs constant 24 hour care.  Many of you at Deutsche Bank will remember Spencer Martin who is Dylan's Dad.  Spencer worked at Deutsche Bank a few years ago - but left DB to be closer to home to assist in Dylan's care.

Dylan is four years old. He's a lovely little lad - who is always smiling, waving his arms and making noise and it is a joy to know him and his family.  Dylan's condition means that he will never walk or talk, eat as you or I do (he is fed through a tube in his stomach) or even breathe without assistance. I'm sure you will appreciate, to take care of a child as severely disabled as Dylan is a challenge and the families need all the help they can get.

Hopefully the money raised by me struggling round the half marathon course will help children like Dylan, alleviate the isolation of the families affected and raise public awareness.

Deutsche Bank will also match the money donated by Deutsche Bank employees.

If you could also forward on the email to anyone you think I may have missed - or to anyone you think may be interested in the Unique Charity.  Thankyou

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rare Chromosome Disorder Support Group gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me between now and the 12th October - Dylan and many children like him would really appreciate it!
