Earlier this year I was asked by TEAM to raise £100 for for Macmillan by the end of 2010.  Well, I thought about this and thought I could do something a bit better than this.  Some of you will recall I was silly enough to abseil down the 35 story Guys Hospital tower in London a few years ago.  In doing so I raised nearly £1800 for Marie Curie.  I thought I ought to see if I could better that!

So, once again I have gone for the utterly silly.  I say this as a 100 mile walk is so far beyond anything I have done before.  The most walking I do is take the dog for a couple of miles at the weekend!  So, for me this is big.  And it is going to take me between five and seven days to achieve.

I am hoping some other TEAM members will be joining me for part of the walk.  Those that do will get a mention on this page and on my blog - do please see their funding raising pages too.

So far, most of the ASL team have decided to do a stint of the walk.  A big well done to John, Iveta and Emma.  You can visit their fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/asl.

I intend to do the walk in two stages, so as to not take too much valuable time from my working week.  I will start on Friday 30th July, and walk for four days till Monday 3rd August.  I will then rest my feet in the office for a few days and continue on Saturday 7th August aiming to finish the walk on Sunday 8th or Monday 9th August.  I will keep you posted on my progress via my blog - I have to take some technology with me otherwise I might start to suffer from iPhone or technology withdrawal symptoms after a couple of days walking!

Almost all of us have had our lives impacted by Cancer.  Whether a close friend or relative, or perhaps a work colleague.  The people at Macmillan do such valuable work looking after those whose lives are effected in some way by Cancer.  Please do support this worthy cause and give very generously.  If I can give up six or seven days of my life to walk 100 miles, with all the pain and blister which will inevitably go with it, I do hope we can raise a substantial sum of money for this very worthy charity.

Many thanks for your generous support.

All the best

Jason
