The Trust’s remit is to provide practical support to children and their families coping with severe epilepsy and to increase awareness and understanding of epilepsy and help remove the stigma associated with the condition.

PLEASE SPONSOR ME.

HI ALL, AS YOU KNOW OUR DAUGHTER EVIE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DRAVETS SYNDROME WHEN SHE WAS 13 MONTHS OLD. WE HAVE HAD A ROUGH TIME WITH HER WHERE WE VERY NEARLY LOST HER IN ONE OF OR MANY HOSPITAL VISITS. SEEING SUCH A SMALL BABY BEING WORKED ON BY 11 DIFFERENT DOCTORS AT THE SAME TIME, WHO WERE DESPERATLY TRYING TO GET DRIPS AND NEEDLES INTO HER WILL BE SOMETHING THAT WE STAY WITH US FOREVER.

LUCKY FOR US, AND HER, SHE IS A REAL TOUGH-NUT AND EVEN THOUGH HER MOBILITY HAS BEEN AFFECTED SHE IS DOING REALLY WELL WHEN COMPARED TO MANY SUFFERERS OF THE SAME AGE.

WE HAVE BEEN HELPED BY 'THE MUIR MAXWELL TRUST' WHO AMONGST OTHER THINGS HAVE SUPPLIED US WITH A NIGHT TIME EPILEPSY MONITOR, WHICH HAS SOUNDED WHEN EVIE HAS FITTED IN HER SLEEP. WITH OUT THIS WE WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN THAT THE FIT WAS OCCURING AND BECAUSE OF THE AGGRESSIVE FORM OF EPILEPSY THAT SHE SUFFERS FROM WE WOULD HAVE LOST HER IN HER SLEEP.

SO THERE FOR I AM ATTEMPTING THE 2009 FLORA LONDON MARATHON TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE TRUST. THIS WILL HELP OTHER FAMILIES LIKE US.

I KNOW THESE ARE HARD TIMES FOR ALL BUT PLEASE DIG DEEP AS I HAVE TRAINED REALLY HARD OVER THE LAST 4 MONTHS TO PAY BACK SOME OF THE CARE AND ATTENTION WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN.
