We are the largest UK charity that supports people with dyslexia & their families, teachers & employers. We aim to change society by breaking through the barriers and enabling everyone with dyslexia to be acknowledged, accepted and empowered.

Last 2 weeks now of bugging everybody to read my updates and sponsor me :D I'm well over my target and have been amazed at the generosity of friends and colleagues and also complete strangers. Thank you EVERYONE who has been so kind <3

This nice weather is an unexpected bonus too!! Longest run yet of 20 miles tomorrow.......

I will have a piece in the local paper this week to hopefully get people digging deep :) thanks to everyone who has sponsored me and if you haven't yet then please do!!! It's for such a good cause....No amount is too big or small...it all counts :)</p> <p><span style="color: #ff0000;"><em>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page :)</em></span></p> <p><em>On April 22nd I will be running the Virgin London Marathon and, on May 27th the Edinburgh marathon to raise money for The British Dyslexia Association. The charity does lots to raise awareness, campaigns &nbsp;and lobbies for change and improvement and offers support and information to families and professionals&nbsp;</em></p> <p><em>Our family has had to deal with the effects of this specific learning disability since Marcus was tested for it in Primary 7...it was a late diagnosis and meant a very difficult transition into secondary education. </em></p> <p><em>Many people are unaware of the complex nature of dyslexia and how it can effect not only reading and writing, but has a profound impact on social skills, self esteem, mental health and emotions.&nbsp;</em></p> <p><em>I spent ALOT of time in school trying to make sure that Marcus received everything that he was entitled to. With information that I gathered from charities like BDA and local Dyslexia support groups I was able to ensure Marcus was given all of the aids he needed to get the best out of his education.&nbsp;</em></p> <p><em>We are blessed to have a child who can see 'outside the box' and is a confident and creative young man now. Im running these marathons for him as im a very proud mum :)</em></p> <p><em>Charities like BDA do such good work but do go unnoticed until dyslexia affects you personally.</em></p> <p><em>I ask you to please give generously and thank you in anticipation of your donation</em></p> <p><em>Lots of love xxx&nbsp;</em></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
