Imagine being told your toddler you thought was healthy, but perhaps slow to progress, in fact had a rare and devastating disability that would leave them needing lifelong 24/7 care. Rett syndrome changes lives irrevocably. With your support Rett UK is there from the beginning. #ToKnowHerIsToLoveHer

Story

Hello my name is Jayne and this is our lovely little girl Lydia. In February this year we had the biggest shock of our lives, our daughter Lydia was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome. Like  many people we had never heard of Rett Syndrome, and are still looking for answers as to why Lydia has this problem. I believe setting up this web page will allow me to communicate with other people in the same circumstances for mutual support and help financially contrubute towards finding a universal cure for this cruel illness.

We are not just doing one big fundraising event, we are  doing all sorts of little events. Starting off last May my oldest daughter Jessica, 15, did a sponsored 15 mile walk. Now my daughter will not even walk to the local shop which is only a 5 minute walk away so this was a big achievement for her.

Myself  will be doing table top sales, coffee mornings.

One of our biggest events will be taking place on the 25th October where my niece, Alexandra and her boyfriend Scott will be taking part in the Great South Run, a 10 mile race in Portsmouth. They aim to raise awareness and money for such a worthy cause.

I am begging you all please to dig deep and donate as little or as much as you can to this site.

Thank you x
