Story

On Saturday, March the 6th 2010. Our world crumbled. After a long hard few years, Jennifer lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer at the age of 17. We were so lucky to have the chance to say our last goodbye and be by her side when she passed away. She really was one of a kind - genuine, caring, loving, talented, honest... Everything you could ask for. She was a much loved, Granddaughter, Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Friend and a special Godmother.

As this year marks the 5th year anniversary of Jennifer passing away, My brother Chris & I decided that we wanted to do something in our sister's memory while raising funds for an amazing charity that means so much to us as a family.

We have chosen CHAS as Rachel House Hospice in Kinross are very close to our hearts. Once Jennifer found out that she didn't have long, she started planning her own arrangements for after she passed away. Jennifer chose Rachel House Hospice as the place she would like to go before we laid her to rest and I am so glad she did, the hospice is truly amazing. Unfortunately our time left with Jennifer was cut short and she never had the opportunity to visit Rachel House before she passed away but from the moment of Jennifer's passing up until the funeral, they done everything they could to take away some of the pain and stress away from what was the hardest week of our life. Jennifer had a lovely little bedroom, where we could spend time with her before we said our final goodbyes and we couldn't be more grateful to have had this special time to be with with her. They helped with everything they possibly could and nothing was ever too much to ask. Even after the funeral, CHAS has offered us support when we needed it and have been extremely welcoming when we have returned for visits. Every year, they get in touch with us, to remind us that Jennifer and our family are in their thoughts - it's the little things that mean so much. For somewhere that you would think would be a sad place to be, it is really far from it. They volunteers, carers and everyone involved, make it such a wonderful place to be during the unimaginable circumstances that families are going through. We owe alot of thank you to them.

Every donation counts, whether it be big or small - Every single donation, is appreciated so much and they do wonders with it.

Thank you to everyone that us supported our family over the past 5 years and during Jennifer's illness. We really do appreciate it more than words can describe. Lots of love xxxx
