Kilimanjaro Summit Climb 3rd - 14th December · 3 December 2008 ·

Wallace & Gromit's Children's Charity is the only charity helping children in local hospitals and hospices across the UK. We provide comfort, state of the art medical equipment, family accommodation and facilities, and art, music and play therapy to hundreds of thousands of sick children.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

As many of you will now be aware, I will be jetting off to Africa’s east coast in December to embark on what I hope will be a successful ascent to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The expedition party will be taking the Lemosho Route to the summit – I’m really not sure if this is a good sign or not – which winds its way through the rainforest of the Lemosho Glades and across the desert plateau of the Shira Caldera before climbing the scree slopes towards Stella Point (sounds promising :)) and finally the 19,340 ft. Uhuru Point peak.

My personal journey is in aid of Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Foundation; a charity that raises and provides funds to seriously ill children in hospitals and hospices across the UK. The Foundation not only helps to cover the cost of medical care and equipment, but also aims to improve children’s quality of life during difficult times by providing funding to improve non-medical facilities, which are not otherwise funded by the NHS.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me; Wallace & Gromit's Children's Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid (plus a 3% supplement) are added to your donation, at no further cost to you.

So please do dig deep and give whatever you can - it's very much appreciated.
