I'm taking part in an event that is aimed at raising funds for the charity BBC Children in Need on Friday 17th November. It's a 24 hour "Sword-a-thon" where the idea is to fence between Thursday 16th November around 10pm to Friday 17th November 10pm. Several members of my fencing club have signed up for it, there are also fencers coming down from Aberdeen and at least one guy from London. The event should receive media attention to get as much sponsorship as possible.
The location is the Harry Younger Hall, Lochend Close (off the Canongate, High Street, Edinburgh)

I have volunteered to fence for 10 hours from 12pm to 10pm on Friday. Yes I am mad, but you all knew that already. This is the first time I ever do anything for charity, it's an opportunity for me to be both altrustic and selfish (10 hours of practice!!!), as such I would really appreciate if as many people as possible could donate a little something towards my mad endeavour. This website should hopefully help to make matters simple.
Needless to say, there is no obligation to donate but it would be appreciated nonetheless. What would be appreciated too is to see some of you down at the event to just give me moral support. Every little helps :)
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: BBC Children in Need will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
