As many of you will know, I am about to retire from The Princess Alice Hospice after 26 years. This Great Wall of China Trek really appealed to me as it starts on my birthday and it seemed a good way to celebrate and raise funds for the Hospice at the same time. Frances, my younger daughter, is joining me and we are sticking to the quite gruelling training programme so that, hopefully, we can cope no problem with the steep gradients and the distances on the Great Wall. It should be fun!
Although I have helped with countless events for the Hospice over the years, I have only asked my friends and relations to sponsor me once before. I am funding my place on the trip so that all sponsorship money goes to the Hospice. I hope to go out on a high so I should be very grateful if you could support me and the Hospice now.
