UPDATE

HAVE JUST RECIEVED AN  E MAIL FROM RUTH AT THE CALVERT. OUR FINAL TOTAL RAISED [INCLUDING GIFT AID, AND A DONATION OF £1175 FROM DIAGIO]  IS £5178..

THANKS TO EVERY ONE WHO TOOK PART [INCLUDING LINZI] AND OF COURSE TO EVERYONE WHO SPONSORED US.

WE ARE CONTINUING WITH OUR FUNDRAISING AND HOPE TO DO THE SAME NEXT YEAR.

WE ARE NOW PLANNING A KIDS FANCY DRESS SPONSORED FUN RIDE, AND AN ADULTS AND CHILDRENS HALLOWEEN PARTY... SO PLEASE KEEP THE MONEY COMING..

A group of  23  family and friends are taking part in a White Water Rafting Experience, on Sunday 5th July. We will be riding the rapids at The River Tummel Pitlochry.

We are hoping to raise  between us in excess of £3000 for The Calvert Trust.

My daughter Linzi has a rare connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Amongst other problems it causes her to have repeated dislocations of all her joints, she is in constant pain.

The time she spends at The Calvert Trust allows her to do the activities that she so much enjoyed before her illness , she never thought that she would be absailing, or rock climbing again. She comes home with a more positive attitute to life.

Any donation no matter how small will be appreciated.

About the charity

The Lake District Calvert Trust provides residential outdoor activity courses for people of all ages with physical, sensory, learning, behavioural and/or mental disabilities. Its mission is to challenge disability through outdoor adventure. Pioneering equipment adaptations, and intensive, instructor-led activity programmes (that include climbing, abseiling, canoeing, sailing, horse/trap driving, archery, orienteering and paragliding), provide an environment whose aims are to teach, challenge, motivate, engender confidence in ability, promote independence, and foster integration. All instructors are highly trained and specialist qualified, and the facilities are specially adapted and fully accessible to all. The Lake District Calvert Trust provides a unique and life-changing experience for those with disabilities, who are encouraged to believe that it’s what you CAN do that counts.
