WE DID IT! A massive thank you to everyone who has supported us! It was hard work but we got there - and we couldn't have done it without your help. As you can see, we smashed out target, providing much needed financial support for SANDS. I know that Auntie Jean would have been overwhelmed by the support we have received. THANKS VERY MUCH FROM US BOTH!! 

* On Sunday 12th September, we will be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham, in memory of our auntie, Jean Redden (nee Strickland). Jean died on 7th April 2010 and to celebrate her life, we would like to raise as much money as we can for SANDS - the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Jean was a very caring and generous lady who gave love in abundance - she always put others first. Jean knew how painful it is to lose a baby, so we believe that she would be very proud to know that the money raised will go to helping women and their families facing the same heartbreak.

Paul is an experienced runner, with several half marathons under his belt, but Alison is new to running, and is training very hard to transform herself from Couch Potato to Long Distance Runner!! It's hard work and we are determined to do it - but we need your support to make this a success! We realise that everyone is 'feeling the pinch' financially at the moment, but any amount, however small, will be most gratefully received - and SANDS will put every penny you give to good use.

17 babies a day are either stillborn or die before they are 28 days old - that's one in every 100 pregnancies! SANDS works to promote research and improvements in practice which could save more babies' lives. There is evidence that a significant number of stillbirths and neonatal deaths could potentially be prevented - by donating today, you could be helping a family to avoid this heartbreak.
