Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 14th May 2013 I'll be heading to the Himalayas to fulfil a lifelong dream of trekking to Everest Base Camp. Why now, I hear you ask? Well, this year celebrates the 60th anniversary of the first ascent of Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. I will be in the Himalayas 60 years to the day that Everest was climbed, celebrating with other people.
When he returned from the Himalayas, Sir Ed Hillary wanted to give something back and so set up the Himalaya Trust. The charity supports Sherpas by building schools, hospitals, roads, etc. You can read more about them here: http://himalayantrust.co.uk/
Every penny helps and I'd be grateful if you would donate. I'm paying all the costs of the trip myself so that all money raised goes directly to the charity.
