Story

A smiling Jemima - Have a look at Jemima's blog to see what she is up to: www.jemimasellicks.blogspot.com

Jemima Invites was created when Jemima Sellicks, a 9 year old pupil at Stoneygate School, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in June last year. Since then Jemima has received horrendous chemotherapy and suffered enormous side effects. She is an extremely brave little girl who has insisted on leading as normal a life as possible. In partnership with Hope Against Cancer Jemima Invites have undertaken to fund a research fellowship looking specifically into the diagnosis and treatment of ALL.

My two Children are at school with Jemima, and I have greatly admired Jemima's courage and spirit in extreme adversity. Although I swore I would never run a marathon again - I dusted off my running shoes earlier this year and entered the 2008 New York Marathon.

I am running with Jamie Bunce, and together we will raise over £5000 for Children with Leukaemia.

I am asking you to please support this charity as well - unknowingly Jemima has been a catalyst for my fundraising efforts.

We have funded over 100 research projects tackling many forms of cancer. In 2012 we opened a dedicated clinical trials centre at Leicester Royal Infirmary to offer patients access to new medicines and therapies. We also fund two nurses who add to the care and support trials patients receive.
