Well.... It's all over and I finished in one piece (just about). A little wet and very tiered but all the same I completed it. Thank you all so much for your help and support along the way in training and on the big day! We have managed to raise an amazing amount of money and it's still coming in. Well done to everyone. If anyone fancies a challenge in 2009 I have signed up for next year to better my time and keep raising money and your more than welcome to join me? Beating Bowel cancer is a great charity and we should all be proud in our part to raising for such a worthy cause, well done everyone! Well for the last time (until next year).... over and out, Jem xxx 9 days to go!!!!! Thank you all so much for your support and donations, it has been hard work but well worth it as we have smashed the original target of £4000! Hopefully we can make it to £6500????? Training wise I completed my 20 mile run last Saturday and felt strong (not so much the day after!) I know my wall is around the 19th mile so the last 7.2 will be extremely hard! I feel nervous but ready about the big day and just keep trying to visualise crossing that finish line. I hope to see a few familiar faces along the way to keep me going. Thanks again guys, I will update and let you all know how it went after the 13th! xxx I'm now up to 15 miles with just over four weeks to go! How I am supposed to find another 11 is very scary! I will keep trying and pushing as the final count down begins! xIt is with great sadness that I type this update. Brian passed away yesterday, 12th of February after a brave fight. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his friends and family as I know how hard this is for you all. I will be proud to be running in his name as he was a great man. x Thank you to all of you who attended the dinner dance on Saturday the 9th of Feb, it was an amazing evening and we managed to raise £5500! Thank you all so much for you support and generosity!!!!! x Here we go again, but this time it will be my biggest challenge to date! Those of you who know me will understand me when I say that the words Jemma and Marathon don't really fit well in a sentence but hey, it will mean all the more when I cross that finish line! I will be running in the Floral London Marathon, a grand 26.2 miles to raise much needed funds and awareness for the charity "Beating Bowel Cancer". As many of you know I lost my Uncle, Paul Keepen to the disease nearly two years ago so this charity is very close to my heart. This disease will unfortunately affect many of us throughout our lives and yet there is still allot of embarrassment attached to this particular type of cancer. I will be trying to raise £4000 for the charity alongside trying to raise awareness of the disease. As well as running for my uncle I will also be running for Brian who we know can fight and beat it! If you can find it in your heart to help us reach our target it will be greatly appreciated! Thank you to you all x Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Beating Bowel Cancer will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
