This year I am going to be giving something back to the charity that has helped me and my beautiful, adventurous girls through the emotional rollercoaster that was 2009.
TAMBA (www.tamba.org.uk)
is the only national organisation for families of twins and multiples
and it provides incredible advice and support to parents, grandparents
and other carers, particularly during the noisy first three years on
all aspects of twin life, including staying sane in the most adverse of
situations. I have particularly benefited from their sound advice on
single parenting of twins.
I will be doing two charity events this year to raise money for TAMBA to enable them to continue with their great work.
In May, on the basis that if I can bring twin toddlers up on my own (a) I can do anything and (b) nothing really scares me now, I am going to be jumping out of a plane on a skydive.
Having survived that, I will be taking part (I hesitate to say "running") in the London 10K event in July (http://www.thebritish10klondon.co.uk), which is the cheat's way of running round the capital with crowds cheering you without having to do a full marathon.
I am aiming to raise at least £500 and I am sure that with your support and generosity, I can easily reach this target.
Please
use this page if you would like to sponsor me for the SkyDive.
Please go to: www.justgiving.com/jen-turner if you would like to sponsor me for the London event.
Feel free to donate to both events!
Thank
you so much for your kindness. There will no doubt be several pictures
available in due course of me putting myself through such Herculean
tasks... Please don't forget that TAMBA can benefit from GiftAid if
you are a UK taxpayer.
If you would like to join me in either of these events, to raise money for TAMBA for for a different charity, then please let me know (jen.turner@me.com).
Much love,
Jen xxx
