I was so honoured to be the only official runner for the Scottish Motor Neurone Disease Association in the London Marathon 2009. I literally followed my Dad`s footsteps as he completed the Marathon in 1982 before he was so cruelly struck down with Motor Neurone Disease in 1987. I ran in his memory and all those who have and had MND (ALS) and did it in within the magic 4 hours (3.56).

Thanks to everyone here`s help I was motivated to keep going to the finish (the last few miles were not easy!) and have so far managed to raise a massive £10,000+ for this very deserving cause. For that I am so grateful but I am not quite finished yet. This page will remain open for another 3 months, so perhaps I will reach my ultimate goal of £13,100. Ich bin stolz und fühle mich geehrt, dass ich die einzige offizielle Läuferin bin, die den London Marathon 2009 für die Scottish Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association rennen darf. Es ist ein Traum, den ich gehabt habe seit mein Vater seinen London Marathon absolviert hat. Er wurde dann so brutal durch die Erkrankung an Amyotrophe Lateralsklerose (ALS) oder MND getroffen. Ich habe mir gedacht, dass es ein würdiger Tribut an ihn und alle ALS-Patienten ist, wenn ich den Marathon renne. Selbstverständlich kommt mit diesem Privileg die Aufgabe, so viel Geld wie möglich für ALS zu sammeln.

Ich habe mir das sehr ambitiöse Ziel gesetzt, 500 Pfund pro Meile zu sammeln, weil ich weiss, dass ich die Motivation brauche, wenn es hart auf hart geht. Und mit Deiner Hilfe schaffe ich das auch! Spenden via Justgiving ist schnell, einfach und sehr sicher.
