Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity bringing individuals, families and professionals together to beat muscle-wasting conditions.

Story

We're a group of friends completing tough mudder to raise funds for Defeating Duchenne - Kerr's Cause. All donations will go directly to Muscular Dystrophy UKs Duchenne research breakthrough fund.

Kerr is a 4 year old local boy who was diagnosed with Duchenne in December 2015 at the age of 3. Duchenne is a progressive and fatal muscle wasting disease that attacks every muscle in the body including the heart and lungs. There is currently no treatment or cure and without any advancement in medical research, Kerr will be wheelchair bound by the age of 12 and will require a ventilator to breathe by his late teenage years. Life expectancy for a Duchenne sufferer is around mid twenties although many sufferers succumb to the disease at a much earlier age. Your donations will go towards hopefully finding a treatment and a cure to give Kerr a much brighter future.
