Story

After some gentle (!) persuasion I have signed up to run the
Edinburgh Half Marathon in May. I've decided to raise money for Mesothelioma UK as they were a huge support to my parents, right from my Dad's diagnosis in November 2009 up to his passing in October last year.

Mesothelioma is a particularly aggressive type of lung cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. Dad contracted the disease when he was working in Manchester, and was diagnosed during a medical for his new job in Afghanistan. Mesothelioma UK are dedicated to offering support and advice for those affected by the disease and are a completely charitable organisation - all of their funding comes from donations. An extra bonus is that the very kind people at Deutsche Bank will match up to £1000, so donating a fiver will mean Mesothelioma UK receive ten pounds.

I'll be aiming to make it round in sub-2 hours, and putting that in writing will hopefully push me a little bit harder to make it! Please be as generous as you can, as Mesothelioma UK is a fantastic charity.
