Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.  I am doing this half marathon as it seemed like a good idea when I applied back in Feb!  I am running for the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (UK) as it is a charity close to my heart as my cousin has PWS so I have seen how hard it is to live with first-hand.

PWS is a complex medical condition affecting people from birth throughout their lives.  People with PWS have multiple disabilities including an obsession with food and eating from about 2 years old onwards.  This is unfortunate as people with PWS require less calories than usual, put weight on easier and can never feel full when having eaten anything so they are constantly hungry.  This means a strict, life-long diet is needed if obesity related issues are to be avoided.  They also have poor muscle tone, lack of normal sexual development, learning disabilities ranging from mild to severe and emotional instability with a lack of maturity in social skills.

The PWS Association is a small charity that will really appreaciate any donations you make so it would be great if you could help me meet or exceed my target.  Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (Uk) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!  Thanks!
