<p><span style="color: #800080;">After graduating from a degree in Speech and Language Therapy, my friend Sarah spent 5 months in Thailand working with CCD. CCD are a charity who work to improve the lives of abandoned disabled children in Thailand.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">When Sarah arrived home she was keen to share about her time in Thailand and she had her heart set on going back. Last summer Sarah and I went out together and spent 4 weeks working in the daycare centres in the government orphanages and in CCD's residential home, Rainbow House. As we are both trained speech and language therapists we used our time to offer support to the staff in how to develop the children's speech and language skills and offering some advice regarding safe feeding practices. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;" class="MsoBodyText3"><span style="color: #800080; line-height: 110%; font-size: 10pt;">This summer we 're going back ... On 27th July 2012 a team of 5 of us will be going out to work in Rainbow House and the government daycare centres. We will be working with children and young adults with various disabilities including; autism, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, blindness and other learning difficulties.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080; line-height: 110%; font-size: 10pt;">We will plan, organise and carry out 'themed activity days' incorporating communication, choice-making, turn-taking skills, structured play/learning, sensory play and fun into all that we do!</span></p>
