Ain't No Mountain High Enough
Fundraising for Samaritans
HI and thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
In a last ditch effort to save cash-strapped Rangers, the club have asked me to scale Kilimanjaro to see if Roman Abramovich dropped any money when he tried, and failed, to climb the mountain last year (http://tempuri.org/tempuri.html). Mount Kilimanjaro stands at a whopping 19,340 feet/5,895m above sea level; is the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. It will take me roughly 12 days to reach the summit and come back down, with up to 15 hours of trekking per day. It’s the same route (Lemosho) that the Comic Relief Red Nose climbers did last year. I’m training hard at the gym and doing a ton of hiking to get myself ready for this challenge. All money raised will go to the Samaritans. Samaritans provides confidential non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide. The service is wholly reliant on volunteers and generous financial donations from members of the public. Every penny raised will go directly to the charity as I have funded the trip myself. Thanks very much for your support x Here's the confidentiality blurb:* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
