Story
Hello Friends,
Inspired by the efforts on UK soil, I have to do my bit. So the Bali Marathon on the 27th August is the result of the madness... Yes I know I have run a marathon before, but almost a decade ago I promised it would be my last and contending with the 30+ heat and humidity will be a real test for this unseasoned runner.
Tragically David passed away running the London Marathon in 2016. Dave and I were Young Officers together and served in 19th Regiment Royal Artillery (The Scottish Gunners) as our first posting. He was a truly remarkable Officer, delving deep into the Scottish heritage of the Regiment. My parents know very few of my army friends personally, but they always reminisce of our Dine in to the Artillery, where Dave spent hours talking to them as he was flying solo. He made the night truly memorable, a mark of his character.
Having seen first hand the amazing work Help for Heroes do for our Armed Forces' Injured, wounded and sick and the fact Dave ran his last miles supporting this amazing charity means a lot to my efforts to raise lots of money for the cause.
Please donate to continue the excellent work that this charity does.
