Hello everyone,

I am running the Liverpool half marathon and the Blackpool half marathon both in two weeks. Now I know its no Eddie Izzard but for me it will definitely be a challenge!!! The reason I am running it is to raise money for Maternal and Childhealth Advocay International (MCAI). My sister works for the charity and I think it's absolutely amazing.

MCAI is a charity dedicated to saving the lives of pregnant women, children and babies in countries where there is poor healthcare. They support and train local health workers and advocate for hospitals and the community, integrating their work to improve and achieve sustainable healthcare.

Each year 4 million babies die worldwide within their first month of life and 1 in 26 women die during childbirth in Africa. With improved training, care, equipment and advocacy many deaths will be prevented.

There are lots of projects going on in Africa and Asia. In Cameron  some of the recent projects have been focusing on helping mothers prevent transmitting HIV/aids to their babies and treating childhood cancers (Burkitt's Lympoma).

It would be absolutely fantastic if you would be willing to donate some money, however small as a little will go a long way.
