Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I'm training hard to run the New York marathon to raise funds for Ape Action Africa, a project in Cameroon that rescues gorillas and chimpanzees orphaned by the bushmeat trade.
Rachel Hogan has devoted her life to chimps and gorillas and she is now the manager of Ape Action Africa's forest sanctuary, home to 17 gorillas, over 90 chimps and more than 150 monkeys.
Our plan for the last year has been to run the marathon together and Rachel has been training hard in the tropical rainforest of Cameroon to run her first marathon. However, she has just injured her leg and is unable to run so she has had to make the very hard decision to withdraw from the marathon. As you can imagine, she is so disappointed...and I am more determined than ever to go to New York to fly the flag for Rachel and Ape Action Africa!
So please dig deep and sponsor me to raise vitally needed funds for the project. You can learn a lot more about Ape Action Africa from their website at www.apeactionafrica.org.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ape Action Africa gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support!
