On June 6th I took part in the 3rd annual Moonlight Walk in aid of St Catherine's hospice in my home town of Preston.  It was a ladies only half marathon (13.1 miles) walk starting at midnight, when two and a half thousand of us set off en masse to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause.

We walked our socks off and crossed the finish line just after 4am.  It felt so good to be part of such an important event, and just how important it was really hit home when our route took us through the grounds of St Catherine's.  As we walked in silence past the hospice it served as a very emotional reminder of why we were all there.
