We are the world’s largest charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Our vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Cancer Research UK is a registered charity in England and Wales (1089464), Scotland (SC041666), the Isle of Man (1103) and Jersey (247).

Story

This Sunday my noodle legs and tea-bag lungs will be carrying me around the 13 miles of pain that is the Bristol Half Marathon - in aid of Cancer Research UK.

This charity supports medical research and education into primary and secondary cancers affecting both women and men: every research development counts and is one way to tackle this terrible disease head-on.

Please donate in support of those presently suffering from cancer, in recognition of those in remission and in memory of those we have lost.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many, many thanks

P.S. On a related note, the 'Institute of Cancer Research' is recruiting women volunteers for the biggest ever cohort study looking at the causes (environmental, behavioural, hormonal, genetic) of breast cancer in UK women. The study may also provide some insights into ovarian cancer and other diseases and would involve filling out a questionnaire and having a blood test taken by your GP every 5 years.

If you’re interested in participating, or know any UK-based women who might be, please look at their website http://www.breakthroughgenerations.org.uk/index.html where you can get more information and request an information pack.
