From the 11th-13th of April 2008,I will be taking part in the Slum Survivor challenge with my youth group at church.
One billion people live in the world’s slums and I intend to spend this weekend living the way they do in order to raise awareness and support.
As part of the challenge I will build a temporary settlement (with cardboard boxes or pieces of scrap ) in the Islington community to live in over the weekend.I will also be eating a limited diet where 4 of us will share a cup or rice and dhal each day,facing real life challenges similar to those faced by people living in slums in terms of weather,limited clothing,limited food and water.

All money raised will go to support the work of Soul Action in poor communities in South Africa , Zimbabwe and around the world.
