Well I have done it!! We managed it on Saturday 31 July. We left about 7am and arrived in Cherbourg just after 9am, had a rest and turned around and did it all over again! We got back in just under 2 hours. The weather and sea conditions were superb! We couldn't have hoped for better. I was a little sore and tired afterwards and my knees were painful! But the object was achieved!!

The support crew were great and I would like to give my thanks to them, to Bob for the use of his flat and getting us into and out of the RMYC in Poole, Jerry for doing the servicing on my ski, Portland Authority for monitoring us all the way, Neil for all his organisation, Sue for providing back up, Gary for the great breakfast and to everyone else who has supported me and given me advice along the way. Lastly a big thanks to everyone who has sponsored me or donated to the charity so far. Its not too late to make a donation to this extremely worthwhile cause so please give what you can. I am proposing to jet ski from Poole to Cherbourg and back in a day, a round trip of 130 miles!

I will be accompanied by a support boat, driven by Neil Jackson. We hope to leave Poole at 7am and anticipate being back in the afternoon. We will stop in France for an hours rest and refreshments before beginning the return journey. The boat is being loaned to us by Honda and CCC Marine.
This event will be governed by weather conditions so we have a number of dates reserved and will aim for each one in order until we have the right conditions to make the journey. they are:- 31 July, 1 August, 21 August, 22 August. In the event of adverse weather conditions on all dates, we will postpone the event until next year. This will be a hard but rewarding challenge for a very worthy cause.
