Story

I'm not a seasoned distance runner. I'm just not built that way. Sure, I can run 10k, but a marathon is more than four of those, back to back, and while I may be looking forward to running it - or more specifically, completing it - I am not relishing the thought of all the training over winter, the sodden trainers and the cold, cold hands. So please, help make my effort worthwhile and give to ACT,  the Actor's Children's Trust, so that they can continue their great work.

ACT provides grants and support for actors' children up to the age of 21, presently helping over 220 babies, kids and young people. Some are orphans, others are fighting illness such as cancer, some have been abused, others need sponsorship to pursue their talents. ACT understand that almost every actor will experience times of hardship; for 120 years, they have been working hard to limit the impact of our precarious industry on the families who otherwise might fall through the cracks.

In October 2016, I ran my first half marathon for Mind - the mental health charity - raising just over £400. I'm keen to push myself further for more great causes, starting with running my first marathon for ACT, a tiny charity that needs all the help it can get.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. They'll never sell your details on or send unwanted emails. And your money goes directly to the charity.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for donating. Now, I don't suppose you want to run it for me too?
