Helen and I have always wanted to skydive for our 16th birthdays, and so have decided to jump in Summer 2010. Our first thought was to raise money for just the event itself, however we later decided to raise money for a charity as well as the event. Because of where we are jumping, and the fact that both our parents have at one point been in the Forces, we have chosen to jump for SSAFA Forces Help.

SSAFA Forces Help is a British based charitable organisation set up to help former and serving members of the British Armed Forces and their families or dependants.

We are participating in a tandem jump at Netheravon, Wiltshire. During the jump, we will experience terminal velocity by falling through the air at speeds of around 120 mph. The jump itself will be from 13,000 ft and will last only 45 seconds before the parachute opens at 5000 ft giving us a 5 minute canopy ride over Wiltshire.
