I am running the New York marathon on 2nd November hoping to raise £10,000 for the Prince's Trust Women's Leadership Group which I have recently joined. This group of women is committed to raising funds to help disadvantaged young women in the UK - to enable the targetted delivery of Prince'sTrust programes specifically to women who most need them to turn around their lives.

I was lucky to meet one of the beneficiaries at a recent lunch - she had spent years in prison for an earlier drug offence, and lost touch with her two young twins and could not envisage a life outside of prison. The Prince's Trust worked with her inside prison to enable her to develop her interest in flower arranging and supported her from the moment she was released. It provided a loan and the know how and connections necessary for her to set up a flower shop. She now is building this business, looking after her children and has a new life which she is passionately thankful for. It was a very high impact story and with your help there are many others who can benefit in this way.
