2010 Baxters Loch Ness Marathon · 3 October 2010 ·

When a child is diagnosed with a heart problem it is a difficult time for the whole family. The Children’s Heart Association would like to help. We hold support meetings across the area; provide equipment and toys for our wards and clinics; and work closely with your cardiac team.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page!

On 3rd October 2010 I'll be running the Loch Ness Marathon - my seventh marathon (!) - this year I'll be raising money for an amazing charity which is very close to our hearts, the Children's Heart Association.

My daughter Mia was born in July 2001 after a normal pregnancy. Within a few hours she was diagnosed with complex heart defects - Mia had her first heart surgery at 6 days old. She's since had several operations, the last being complex open heart surgery in 2005. Mia will need more surgery in the future. She's my inspiration and the reason I started running :)

The Children's Heart Association is a fantastic charity which has helped us such a lot in the past few years. They organise events to bring together families of children with heart defects.

The Children's Heart Association provide support for families and also help fund equipment and resources for the cardiac centres which have provided such amazing care for Mia and hundreds of other children in the North West. For lots more information on the charity please visit their website http://www.heartchild.info

For more details about any of the above you can also email me on jilly-b@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks again, please help me raise as much as possible for this fantastic charity. Oh and I'll be running it in a pink tutu which has got to be worth donating a tenner for!!!
