*** UPDATE ***

Well...I made it!

I knew what I was letting myself in for second time around...!

As I've mentioned to most of you - I hit my wall at around 18 miles but walked through it knowing how much sponsorship I had received - no pressure then!

It was a real adventure, we left London at 11am and drove to Edinburgh, stopping for afternoon tea and scones in The Lakes on the way.  I then insisted we parked in a safe spot.  We parked at the top of a hill under the CCTV camera - we were promptly recorded getting changed into our decorated bras!

12,000 women and a few men then congregated in a tent!  We ate rice and flap jacks and did a warm up with Mr Motivator!  Who I might add has never walked 26.4 miles.

At midnight (or there abouts) we crossed the line, sneaking Madge through as she had a different colour number than Marnie and me.  Up the hill round Arthur's Chair at break neck speed.  Then the first marker - 1 mile...just 25.4 to go!!!!!  I talked Marnie listened, Madge brought her ipod.  We stopped for the first time at 13 miles, when I also treated myself to a chocolate Boost bar, mmmmmm.  We had to stop nature called - behind the bushes, after wasting time on our first Moonwalk we said we wouldn't do it again.  Picture the scene, lots of women with the same cap scattered around the golf course ruff, nothing glamorous about that!

The miles ticked by...we encouraged each other.  The sun came up around 4am, Leith looks great with the sun reflecting on its skyline -  we were there to appreciate it.  We were cold one minute and hot the next - thank God it didn't rain!  One lovely Edinburgh bar owner opened his toilets to us...we told him how much we loved him...especially after the golf course ruff!

The last 2.4 miles were the hardest, uphill and tiring.  The crowd kept us going.

We crossed the line.  It is very emotional, people take time to reflect why they've put themselves through it...every other person is tearful...we remembered the people we walked for, some still with us and others not so fortunate.

Lying on my back appreciating the Edinburgh sunshine...looking like a dying fly in a silver superhero cape...I stretched and prepared myself for the drive home!  Yes, we really challenged ourselves.  6 hours driving there and back with an 8 hours walk in between for good measure.  Thankfully sat nav sent us via The Gits and we managed to wish Tegs (my Dad) who is totally deaf a Happy Fathers Day - he ended up waiting on me though because we were a little fragile!

All that remains for me to say is.  Thank you - you're brilliant, I appreciate your support and so do the RNID who received the first tranche of funds today from your fundraising.  I will be send Breast Cancer the cheque shortly.

Love to you all...Jilly xxx

PS remember we parked the car up the hill under the CCTV camera...we had to climb that hill after we'd finished - punishment or what!!!!!

Hello,

Thank you for visiting my Justgiving page.  I'd really appreciate two minutes of your time to help me raise funds for the two charities I will be walking for.

Firstly, a bit about the walk.  I will be walking with my friends Madge and Marnie.  This is my second Moon Walk so I know what I'm letting myself in for.  I've agreed to walk 26.4 miles around Edinburgh, starting at midnight, in my bra!!!

I started training by seeing in the New Year in my Manolo boots (not) - see photo!

As you my know my Dad is deaf so the RNID is close to my heart.  I'm also very passionate about breast cancer.  I'd really appreciate your support, every penny counts.

I promise to provide photographic evidence of us starting the walk and crossing the finish line - which we will!!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RNID gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Please sponsor me now!

With kindest regards Jilly xxx
