Now think of a red faced, sweaty, out of condition, unfit, mid life crisis, bedraggled looking bloke with pipe-cleaner legs at the back, being overtaken by people in chicken suits and the disabled. Smile as you imagine the pain etched on his face, laugh as you consider the state of his knees after the race, smirk as you consider his navigation of brighton’s ovingdon ring and chuckle as you consider him crawling on his hands and knees across the deserted finish line, in the dark , when everyone else has gone home.
