Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for my 2009 double cycling challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of Jacky, who died from breast cancer in 1997. I will also be doing the second challenge, Conquer the Alps, with my colleague Gillian Lord, who died from ovarian cancer in August this year, very much in mind.

From July 8th to 12th 2009 I completed the Macmillan London to Paris challenge cycle accompanied by my brother Peter so now it is on to the second part of my double challenge. This is the 'main event' for me, the Conquer the Alps challenge from September 17th to 21st. This involves tackling six mountains used in the Tour de France over 3 days, culminating in the mighty Col du Galibier and Alpe d'Huez. They are long, very long and the profiles look very challenging but then this is what it is all about. So wish me luck as you wave me goodbye!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Please note that I am paying the full costs of both of the trips so everything you donate goes to Macmillan (minus the small charge for Justgiving, which is more than off-set by the Gift Aid Macmillan can claim)
