Many thanks for visiting our fundraising page, your support is greatly appreciated.
As you probably know, on the 1st July Honesty and Jane will be (attempting!) to run the British 10K race in London...three legged! Memories of school sports days fill us with fear, and that was only the length of a hockey pitch! We hope that our efforts in this crazy venture will encourage you to sponsor us generously in our campaign to support the work of VSO.
In September Jane will be heading out to Rwanda to work for a HIV and AIDS prevention charity. She'll be working with schools and youth organisations across the district of Nyraguru, with projects including setting up anti-aids clubs, facilitating workshops and developing teaching resourses. It sounds like a fascinating and very exciting opportuntiy!
Fundraising is fundamental to the work of VSO. The money donated from people like you goes directly towards recruiting, training and sending volunteers to countries where they can share their skills and help to change people's lives. The charity works in 34 of the world's poorest countries, forming partnerships with local organisations on projects in 6 development 'goal' areas: education, disabililty, health and social well-being, participation and governance, HIV and AIDs, and sustainable livelihoods.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Voluntary Service Overseas will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
