On May 15th 2010, a group of us (Rob Mehaffy, Jamie Monks, Sophie Stubbles, Laurence Robinson, Martin Smith and Phil Bale) will begin our attempt at the 3 Peaks challenge.
We'll be starting in Scotland, at the foot of Ben Nevis. Setting off up the mountain at 5pm, we'll have 24 hours to conquer this mountain, drive to the English Lake District, summit and Descend Scafell, then drive to Welsh Snowdonia, to top out Snowdon and return to the car.
That's the highest peak in each of the three countries of mainland UK in just 24 hours, including travelling between them. This will be a test of commitment, fitness and endurance and a most fitting way to raise money for our local Mountain Rescue teams.Having recently helped a team of 20 volunteers stretcher a fallen climber to a waiting airlift at Stanage Edge, we see no more worthy of a cause to give a few of our pennies to.Please support us and the volunteers of the Peak District Mountain Rescue Sevice by taking a moment and donating what you can.
With sincerest thanks!
