Independent Age is the national charity focused on improving the lives of people facing financial hardship in later life. Our helpline and advisers offer free, practical support to older people and with our grants programme, we support organisations working with older people across the UK.

Story

Hi

I know it's probably not the best time to ask for sponsorship in this post-credit crunch world but if you do have a few pennies to spare I'm tackling the 26 miles in Edinburgh for a good cause.

Independent Age is a charity that helps older people stay in their own homes by giving them a small, regular amount of money to help with bills etc. They help people who have helped others during their lives e.g. people who've been volunteers and carers and so might not have been able to work to build up savings of their own.

I'm a volunteer for IA and the people I visit are amazingly grateful for the support they receive.

And if you can sponsor me I promise I'll find something new to talk about after 31st May after boring you all with marathon talk for months!!

Thank you.
