The Great Eastern Run 2009 · 18 June 2009

We will all experience grief in our lifetime, and it can be devastating. We’re here to help, offering the emotional support and information needed to navigate grief and bereavement. To donate, volunteer or raise money for us, please email our friendly fundraising team at fundraising@cruse.org.uk.

Story

So, I have signed up to do the Great Eastern run with my lovely friends on Sunday 11th October.  As you are probably aware I am not the most sporty of people - so 13 miles is going to be pretty hard work for me to say the least! However, I am confident that with my downloaded 18 week harsh running plan I am going to be able to do it.

I am fundraising for the charity Cruse Bereavement Care.  The charity provides emotional support for people struggling to cope with a bereavement.  I work for them as a volunteer bereavement counsellor visiting people at their home.  I have been doing so for a year now and it is an incredibly rewarding experience to be able to help people realise that there is eventually light at the end of the tunnel and you can come out the other side.

This charity is very important to me from a personal point of view - if you know me you know why - and I hope that by doing this I am making her up there watching over me proud!

I will keep you updated with my training developments (or lack of them!) Ugh
