Hi folks! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

WELL, I DID IT, BUT I STILL NEED YOUR SPONSORSHIP!!

To summarize- it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life! It was extremely tough, and as I feared, 80% of the 500+mile journey was UPHILL! Combining that with the heat, long 10hour cycling days and a lovely sore tummy that I had since day 3, needless to say I did struggle quite a bit! But I did it, and I am sooooo proud of myself! Still waiting for the feeling to come back in my bum though...

Thank you to all who have sponsored me, but I still need to raise more money.  And believe me I have earned every penny of the money and then some! So please help me to complete the challenge- the most important part- hitting my target!

I know there are a lot of charities out there that need your help.  I  worked for NCB for over 2 years, so I know first hand that your money will go towards an excellent cause: improving the lives and well-being of children in Northern Ireland and England.

So let me tell you a bit about NCB  and the wonderful work they do in order to convince you to part with some of your cash...

NCB  Mission is:

NCB has a vision of a society in which all children and young people are valued and their rights respected. We are dedicated to advancing their health and well-being across every aspects of their lives. We give support to children and young people and to those who work with or for them. We aim to:

Reduce inequalities in childhood Ensure children and young people have a strong voice in all matters that affect their lives

Promote positive images of children and young people

Enhance the health and well-being of all children and young people

Encourage positive and supportive families and other environments

NCB  works across the policy areas relevant to children and young people, particularly early years, social care, disability, health and well-being, and play and positive activities.  Our work is highly influential on central and local government policy, and on practice and service development. We actively engage with the NI Assembly in the interests of children and young people.

NCB  has worked on various projects to change children's lives for the better, including:

  • children’s involvement in bullying policies;
  • 5 Nations Play Policy Summit;
  • emotional health and young people;
  • childhood bereavement;
  • children living with HIV;
  • managing challenging situations in children’s residential care
  • asylum-seeking, refugee and migrant children .
  • Have a look at our website www.ncb.org.uk, or type in 'Northern Ireland' to see more of what we do in NI as well as England!

    Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: National Children's Bureau gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

    So please sponsor me!

    Many thanks

    Jo xx
