Martin Currie - Rob Roy Challenge 2008 · 21 June 2008 ·

Martin Currie Charitable Foundation is run by staff of Edinburgh-based investment management business, Martin Currie. We support a number of good causes through charitable donations and volunteering. Our main fundraising event is the Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge, held each year in June.

Story

Hello!

I know this is a bit late in the day to ask for your support - I'd like to say I've been so intent on my training that I've just not had time...However, I'm now just over 48 hours away from a 16 mile walk followed by a 40 mile cycle and I'm feeling slightly nauseous at the thought! Having completed this challenge last year I now know quite how horrible those last 17 miles of hills were and I need your support more than ever!

There are four very worthwhile charities that will benefit from your generosity : Habitat for Humanity - whose vision is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness across the world, The Prince's Trust - helping young people overcome barriers and get their lives working, Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust  - who help young people across Scotland set up and continue in business, and Place2Be - a charity that works inside schools to support and nurture troubled children.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Martin Currie Charitable Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

I know a lot of people have been looking for sponsorship recently so don't feel obliged but even a small donation will help me get up those hills!

Many thanks,

Jo
