Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Wow...what an experience, I did it, all be it taking longer than planned!  After gaining an injury at 12 miles, my final finish time was 6 hrs 55 mins, compared to my target of less than 5 hours...but I finished in 33,968 place (out of 37,000)...so it was worth the 14 miles of walking/jogging with a clicking and painful hip!!

I am still a long way from my fundraising target for Women's Aid, so I will be still collecting sponsors for a while, so please make a donation if you would like to.

The reason I was running for Women's Aid was because in 2006 Emma (then 2), Tyler (then 1) and I were placed in one of their refuges for women and their children who are fleeing domestic violence/abuse.

We were lucky, we not only had a safe place to stay, the support we received from Women's Aid was second to none.  We were back on our feet in no time.  Without Women's Aid we couldn't have done it.

That's why Women's Aid are so close to my heart...and always will be.  In my eyes they are life savers.

For official figures on the number of women abused in this country, or for useful numbers/information, check out their website www.womensaid.org.uk.  You will be astonded at the sheer volume of women who are abused in our country every day!

Women's Aid helped us escape abuse and now I want to raise as much as I can to help Women's Aid help many many more suffers.

Anything you can donate, no matter how small, would be very much appreciated.

Thank you, Jo xxx
